Editorial Policy

How we produce our articles

InfoBrief publishes short, practical explainers on money, government services, travel documents, and everyday how-tos. Every article follows the same standard.

Our standards

  • Answer first. The direct answer appears in the opening lines and in a Key Takeaways box, followed by detail for readers who want it.
  • Primary sources. We rely on official government sites (IRS, SSA, USPS, State Department, DOT, FTC, CFPB and others) and company documentation, and we link to them in a Sources section at the end of each article.
  • No guessing on numbers. Fees, deadlines and limits change. Where a figure changes frequently we tell you to confirm it on the official site rather than risk being out of date.
  • Updates. Each article shows a “Last updated” date. We review articles when the underlying rules change and on a rolling schedule.
  • Corrections. If you spot an error, use our contact page. We fix confirmed errors promptly and note material changes.

Independence

InfoBrief is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with any government agency, bank, airline, or software company we write about. Advertising and affiliate relationships never influence what we cover or what we say; see our advertising disclosure.
