Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 30, 2026. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit InfoBrief (infobrief.io) and how it is used.

Information we collect

InfoBrief does not require accounts and does not ask for personal information to read the site. Two kinds of data are collected automatically:

  • Analytics data. We use standard analytics to understand aggregate traffic โ€” pages visited, approximate location at the city level, device type, and how visitors arrive. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.
  • Advertising data. Ads on InfoBrief are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and may collect IP addresses and device identifiers as part of ad serving and fraud prevention.

How Google uses advertising data

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can read how Google uses data from partner sites at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Your choices

  • Opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site remains fully readable with cookies disabled; ads may become non-personalized.
  • Readers in the EEA and UK are shown a consent message before personalized ads are served and can change their choice at any time via the link in the site footer.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data collected by Google for ad serving is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. We do not combine advertising data with any other information about you.

Children

InfoBrief is a general-audience site about adult topics (taxes, benefits, consumer costs) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

External links

Articles link to official government and company websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
